The story of Stream Tour Zanzibar
Stream Tour Zanzibar didn't start with a business plan or an investor deck. It started with frustration watching visitors to this extraordinary island get whisked through scripted tours with no real connection to the place, guided by people who barely knew it themselves.
Our founders are Zanzibar locals. Guides who grew up fishing these reefs, walking Stone Town's alleys before dawn, learning the ocean's rhythms from their fathers. They knew that visitors deserved better: real stories, real knowledge, and guides who genuinely cared whether you left changed.
"Zanzibar gave us everything. The least we can do is share it honestly, carefully, and with full pride in where we come from."
Stream Tour Zanzibar founding teamToday we operate tours across Zanzibar, Pemba Island, and mainland Tanzania including Kilimanjaro treks all under the same principle: take fewer people, go deeper, leave the island better than you found it.

We follow strict leave no trace principles on all tours. We partner with local conservation efforts and avoid any activity that harms wildlife or ecosystems.
Every booking supports local guides, boat crews, cooks, and families. We source food locally, use local transport, and keep tourism money inside Zanzibar.
Registered with the Tanzania Tourism Board. ZATI affiliated. All marine guides hold certified safety training. All mountain guides are KINAPA registered.
We cap every tour at maximum 12 people not to charge more, but because a smaller group means a better experience for every single person in it.
Our guides aren't employees who happened to apply for a job. They're people who grew up here, who love this place, and who take your experience personally.

A Stone Town native and informal historian, Amina brings the city's Swahili, Arab, Indian and Portuguese layers to life in ways no guidebook can. Her Stone Town tours consistently receive 5.0 ratings.
